I used audacity to convert the mix from 320kbps to 128kbps which reduced the filesize by 105mb. For the length of the mix 192kbps/156mb is quite good. Well compared to the sizes of other mixes ive downloaded on other forums anyway. Im not sure what you mean by that vbr - lame stuff, Xiphan? | ||

According to HydrogenAudio forums (and my own personal preference! :P) the best quality setting to use is variable bitrate at a quality setting of 2, 0 being the highest and 9 the lowest, as this will result in a filesize much lower than standard 192k constant bitrate mp3s but also have a higher overall quality to it. When you record your sets do you record them into wav files first? If so then all you need to do is get the latest LAME stable (v3.97) run it from a command line and encode like so:
lame -h -V2 --vbr-new "path to wav.wav" "output.mp3"
And voila all done! | ||
